چکیده
A 4-year-old boy had slight retardation of psychomotor development and a history of three febrile convulsions. He had been in good health until a generalized seizure occurred. On the day of admission, he was in status epilepticus, but the seizures were controlled by administration of diazepam and phenobarbital. CT of the brain showed no abnormality. The day after admission, the patient was alert and asymptomatic. Results of a general physical examination and routine laboratory studies were normal. An electroencephalogram showed decreased normal rhythm and slowing in the delta range, with sharp waves in both centroparietal areas. MR showed bilateral round cystic masses, 14 x 12 mm on the right and 11 x 9 mm on the left, in the trigones of the lateral ventricles (Fig . 1 ). On T1and T2-weighted images, the cysts had a slightly higher signal than that

Their localisation, FLAiR signal higher than that of CSF, hyperintense signal on DWi, and ADC values close those of the cerebral white matter were typical for choroid plexus cysts (CPC). CPC are most frequently encountered at both ends of the age spectrum. Th...

This article reviews symptomatic intraventricular xanthogranulomas, based on a case presentation. Bilateral xanthogranulomas of the choroid plexus were removed surgically from the lateral ventricles of a 12-year-old boy. At 9 years of age, he had evidence of increased intracranial pressure and was hospitalized. Dense enhancing masses were detected in computerized tomogram (CT) brain scan. The l...

The authors present a case of huge atypical choroid plexus papilloma in both lateral and third ventricles. A 2-yearold girl presented with lethargy and vomiting. Magnetic resonance images disclosed a huge enhancing mass, which probably arose from the left lateral ventricle and extended to the right lateral and the third ventricles. Total removal of the mass via the interhemispheric transcallosa...
